Several people can add entries to the same day. New entries from different phones merge. If the same entry was changed in two places and those changes disagree, the server copy wins. The phone updates to match it.
That is why you review the timeline before you lock. A note you thought you edited offline may have been replaced by the copy that reached the server first.
